Things you should expect from us:
We have done our best to evaluate the pet prior to placement. Keep in mind that moving into a new home with new people, the pet may display behaviors that we have not seen.
Your new pet may take several weeks to adjust to the life with you. Most of our pets have not had a great start to life, having been dumped in a kill shelter, and some of them have never experienced love or a peaceful home environment until they came to us. If you are expecting an instantaneous transition with no issues, then you are probably not prepared to adopt.
When you adopt from us, we will ALWAYS do our best to help you and your pet if you're having any issues. It can be in the form of advice, or if it is something that is beyond our capabilities, then we will point you in the right direction to find the help you need. We want you to succeed and will bend over backwards to make sure that our dogs are happy and loved. We do what it takes to make magic happen!
If something happens and the adoption does not work out, we will either take the pet back or find a new home while the pet remains with you. We will NOT turn our backs on our pets.
We will follow up and we will make sure the dog is doing well and being properly vetted.
Unfortunately this needs to be said - If adopters do not adhere to the contract, we will take all necessary actions to correct the situation.
This is a "life-long relationship" between the dog, the rescue, and you. Adopting from us makes you a part of the Poochie’s Pet Rescue family.
We are very grateful and thankful that you've adopted one of our pets. Without YOU, we wouldn't be able to save these animals. It is thanks to people like YOU that our rescue is a success.
What we expect of you as the adopter:
We expect you to love and cherish this pet as your new family member.
We expect you to give this adoption your best shot. Sometimes things don’t work out, but no one should return a puppy for not being housebroken - that is what training is for!
We expect that if you're having an issue you, come to us and ask for help. We want you/dog to succeed and we will help in any way we can!
We expect you to follow the contract. Please note: If a vet decides that a pup is still too small to spay/neuter, we always follow the vet's direction. We would be very willing to make an exception to our “spay/neuter by” date.
We expect that when we contact you, that you will give us feedback on how your dog is doing with you and your family.
In conclusion
Rescue takes teamwork, and every single adopter is not just part of the team, but a member of the family.
Without you, rescue doesn't happen.
